Visegrád is a small town in Hungary, located on the banks of the Danube River, approximately 40 kilometres north of Budapest. The town is known for the Visegrád Castle, a medieval fortress that offers panoramic views of the Danube Bend and is a popular tourist destination. Visegrád played a crucial role in medieval Hungarian history, serving as the royal seat of King Matthias Corvinus and as a location for important international treaties and councils. It is also famous for its historical significance, particularly the Visegrád Group, an alliance formed in 1991 between Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
